Our first class back for 2020 is Distress Oxide Sprays. I have a collection of these sprays, not all of them, but about 70% of them, so I have a pretty good selection of colours to choose from. I used these sprays, along with the Distress Spray Stains to create these backgrounds and also used the Oxide Sprays to colour the stamped images. This was done by adding a little of the spray from the tube in the bottle to a piece of acetate and then picking up the colour with an Aqua Brush to messily colour the images. Messy watercolouring stamped images is so much quicker and easier than precise colouring. 🙂
I used a piece of acetate to mask off the moon section before spraying, then spritzed lightly with water after the sprays had dried. This causes the sprays to run a little and create the spooky moon effect.
"Already Disturbed"
"Bling out your dead"
"Fear not"
"Hocus Pocus"
"Pitch Black"
"Nightmare"
"Explore"
(This one has no moon on it, but I wanted to show the
girls the gorgeous Mercury Glass die-cuts and it does
have a Distress Oxide background)
This is my cover for book #23. It is 20cm x 15cm (or 8" x 6" if you still work imperial rather than metric sizing).
