ALCOHOL INK SMOOSH

We used alcohol inks in the last class so I thought we'd continue with them in this class but this time use them for making backgrounds instead of embellishments.  I love the various effects you can get with alcohol inks by varying how you actually apply them.  This time it's the old tried and true method of "smooshing" the glossy card stock on puddles of alcohol inks to create these gorgeous backgrounds.  By also applying some rubbing alcohol and even the alcohol ink metallic mixatives, you can vary how these backgrounds turn out.  Love the contrasting colours!

TEXTURED ALCOHOL INK EMBELLISHMENTS

I try to include some embellishment classes as well as doing backgrounds so the girls will have both a stash of backgrounds as well as embellishments to use on their atc's.  The class this fortnight is using chipboard shapes with white craft glue and colouring with alcohol ink.  The heat from a heat gun is what gives the shape it's wonderful texture and once again, these can't be appreciated except in the flesh.  You can of course use your die cutting machines to cut your own shapes and you can also use the laser cut shapes.  It helps to have a decent sized area to cover so you can see the texture and give the alcohol ink something to colour.  Love digging through my background stash and matching up images, embellishments, backgrounds and of course quotes (or words).
